WaveOne Gold Knocks Out Two Cases
About the Cases
Dr. Tuan Levo takes on two cases with the WaveOne Gold reciprocating file system.
The patient presented with broken tooth #19. Tooth showed pain to percussion, negative to cold test. Diagnosis: necrotic pulp and symptomatic apical periodontitis.
After removal of all infected tissue and rubber dam isolation, canals were located. Locating the canals was a little challenging due to calcification. Hand files were used to verify working lengths as well as pre-shape canals, WaveOne Gold Glider was used, followed by the WaveOne Gold Primary to shape canals. Then Conform Fit WaveOne Gold gutta-percha points were used. Obturation was completed with sealer. Sodium hypochlorite was used for copious irrigation. The case turned out well.
The patient presented with pain on tooth #2. Pulpal involvement. Tooth exhibited pain to percussion and lingering pain to cold test. Diagnosis: Symptomatic irreversible pulpitis and symptomatic apical periodontitis.
The protocol, in this case, was the exact same as in Case 1. WaveOne Gold Glider and WaveOne Gold Primary helped shape the canal and Conform Fit WaveOne Gold gutta-percha points were used to obturate. This time the patient was younger, so everything was even easier to navigate.
